The Division of Education is seeking a full-time faculty member beginning Fall 2014.

Department Chair, Undergraduate Education, Interdisciplinary Studies and General Studies

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD or Ed.D.; a candidate who is ABD will be considered

Required Qualifications:

  • M.Ed, or other Master level degree in Education or related field
  • K-12 Teaching Experience
  • Teacher Certification


Job Description

  • Collaborate with the Division Chair in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and materials used in departmental programs
  • Coordinate scheduling of instructors for residential and online sections of all departmental classes
  • Oversee the preparation of the departmental book orders for each semester
  • Serve on university committees as assigned
  • Oversee student advisement concerning appropriate courses, programs, goals, careers, etc.
  • Coordinate placement and supervision of student teachers
  • Collaborate with the Division Chair in the development and administration and implementation of program goals and budget process
  • Collaborate with multiple university departments for the oversight of the General Education Curriculum
  • Assist in the preparation of annual program reviews and reports, and program assessments
  • Assist in the national accreditation process (TRACS) and other accrediting agency reviews for all programs in the department (ACSI).
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the college catalog on matters relating to programs and the departments.
  • Position includes a 27 semester credit hour annual teaching load (residential and online) and some administrative duties
