What is our culture?
How do we fit?
How do we represent Christ in the context of western civilization?
An understanding of history equips the Christian to answer these questions and engage the present world in a potent way. By examining events, characters, and beliefs of the past, we learn about people, their ideas, values, and behaviors. We then apply what we find to current issues and events, such as Christian apologetics, human rights, and international ethics. Tennessee Temple history students will graduate with the knowledge and skills that prepare them for careers in law, international business and missional work, and journalism. Those who select a major in history and secondary education will also be equipped to lead others in the quest for knowledge, insight, and fact.
