Fall 2014 New Student Orientation Schedule

Students are required to attend all scheduled activities

Wednesday, August 13th

8:00am-12:00pm Check-In with Student Service Offices (Located in room 208, second floor, in the Lee Roberson Center [LRC] on Orchard Knob Avenue)/Dormitory Move-In Time

-Admissions/ Records Office (Verification of Required Documents for Admissions, such as, Official High School and/or College Transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, Immunization Records. Remember to have completed all Registration Documents prior to Orientation: http://www.tntemple.edu/registration-check-in.)

-Financial Aid Check-In (Required Documentation for Financial Aid)

·       Financial Aid Office (Submission of Documentation needed for Orientation. Remember to have the FAFSA http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ completed prior to Orientation.)

·       Business Office (Completion of Payment Arrangements prior to Orientation.)

-Student Development Office (Obtain Student ID Card, Complete necessary Forms regarding Campus Policy & Procedures, Check-In to Dormitory.)

12:00-1:00pm Lunch in the TTU Dining Hall (with Students & Parents); Welcome & Introduction presented by Dr. Steve Echols, President of TTU

1:00-3:45pm Break-Out Sessions (Lee Roberson Center, Second Floor, Room 208)

1:00pm-1:30pm Admissions/Records & Business/Financial Aid Information Session

1:30-2:00pm IT Services Information Session (Mr. Jon Stanley)

2:00pm-2:30pm Student Development Information Session (Mr. Joe Frejosky) 

2:30pm-2:45pm Break Time

2:45pm-3:45pm “How to Succeed Academically at TTU” by Dr. Francis Kimmitt, VP for

Academic Services

3:45pm-6:00pm Dormitory Move-In Time

6:00pm-7:00pm Dinner in the TTU Dining Hall

7:00pm-12:00am “Meet ‘N Greet” Ice Cream Social sponsored by Student Development Office

Thursday, August 14th  

9:00am-11:00am Computer Fundamental Placement Test (TBA); New Student Advising & Registration with TTU Professors (for students not involved in placement testing)

11:00am-12:00pm Student Resources Orientation in LRC 208

12:00pm-1:00pm Lunch in the TTU Dining Hall

1:00pm-5:00pm New Student Advising & Registration with TTU Professors (for students not involved in placement testing); Academic Improvement Tests:

·       Residual ACT (TBA)

6:00pm-7:00pm Dinner in the TTU Dining Hall

7:00pm-12:00am Student Development Activity (TBA)

Friday, August 15th

9:00am-12:00pm New Student Advising & Registration with TTU Professors

12:00pm-1:00pm Lunch in the TTU Dining Hall

1:00pm-5:00pm New Student Advising & Registration with TTU Professors

6:00pm-7:00pm Dinner in the TTU Dining Hall

7:00pm-12:00am Downtown Chattanooga “Scavenger Hunt” sponsored by Student Development Office

Saturday, August 16th

12:00pm-1:00pm Lunch in the TTU Dining Hall

6:00pm-7:00pm Dinner in the TTU Dining Hall

7:00pm-12:00am Chattanooga Lookouts’ Baseball Game

Sunday, August 17th

9:30am-12:30pm Attend a church of student’s choice.  Transportation will be available for students to attend worship at Woodland Park Baptist Church on the site of our new campus! (meet on the steps of the LRC building)

12:00pm-1:00pm Lunch in the TTU Dining Hall

5:00pm-6:00pm Dinner in the TTU Dining Hall (for returning students only)

4:30pm-12:00am Dinner & Chattanooga Riverboat Cruise (New Students Only)

Monday, August 18th

First Day of Class       **Drop/Add Period is Monday, Aug 18th-Thursday, Aug 21st**

12:00-1:00pm Lunch in TTU Dining Hall

5:00pm-7:00pm “Picnic Dinner on the Greens” at TTU

Tuesday, August 19th

11:00am-12:00pm Chapel Service
