Purpose & Objectives

Purpose

The psychology major is designed to prepare graduates with a foundation for graduate study or service in various psychological fields, including counseling, development, school psychology, social work, clinical practice, and other specialty areas.

Objectives

1. The student will demonstrate an understanding of individual, group, and organizational dynamics and their interplay in social structures.
2. The student will demonstrate an understanding of the basic psychological principles and applications to human behavior.
3. The student will evaluate psychological theories and positions in light of Scriptural truth.
4. The student will demonstrate a broad-based academic exposure by being adequately prepared for continued graduate education in the various fields of psychology.
