Tennessee Temple Double Online Learning Enrollment

 Chattanooga, TN June 24, 2010:

On July 3, 1946, Dr. Lee Roberson, propelled by a vision of a Bible school where preachers, missionaries, and other Christian workers could receive training, led the Highland Park Baptist Church in the organization of Tennessee Temple Schools. Originally conceived as a two-year college and Bible school, the ministry soon expanded to incorporate a four-year college and gained university status in 1979. Now almost sixty four years later, under the leadership of Dr. Danny Lovett who also serves as the pastor at Highland Park Baptist Church, the University is still expanding and growing more than ever! Amid tough economic times, rising tuition cost and school closings plaguing the academic community, Tennessee Temple University’s enrollment is on a steady increase; the university is financially stable and is now on the brink of a major community redevelopment project. The school’s online learning degree program also increased its enrollment by almost 50% every year since its inception four years ago, breaking enrollment records for the school. Byron Edens, Director of Student Services says, “This is a great time for the university. Online learning is the wave of the future and as Chattanooga’s Christian university with the most affordable tuition rates in the region, we offer a wide array of academic programs and make it easy to obtain a four year Christian liberal arts degree either from the comfort of your home or right here on our campus in historic Highland Park.” The school received full accreditation by the American Association of Bible Colleges (now ABHE) in 1984, and has been accredited by Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) since 2000. TTU students are now eligible for HOPE scholarships from the state. For more information about Tennessee Temple University, please visit their website at www.tntemple.edu.
